Niven Family Wine Estates is a family wine company in the truest sense. Our family patriarch, Jack Niven, pioneered wine grape planting in the Edna Valley in the early 1970s, and today, his children and grandchildren are carrying on his legacy. We believe in sustainability, quality, community, innovation, tradition (when warranted), and educating consumers in the ever-changing world of wine. While we make a wide variety of wines, each of our brands is made in a carefully focused style. This allows us to showcase the diversity of our cool-climate, SIP-certified sustainable vineyard located in California’s Edna Valley, the historic Paragon Vineyard.
Our StoryCreated by our matriarch Catharine Niven over 30 years ago, Baileyana is our expression of the classic cool climate varieties grown on our estate here in the Edna Valley.
Trade & MediaThis dynamic range of white wines are bright and crisp, individual and distinct, unoaked and screwcapped. Truly a departure from the ordinary.
Trade & MediaTrue Myth represents the best of SLO County: an Edna Valley appellated, estate grown Chardonnay from our Paragon Vineyard, and a rich, smooth Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles.
Trade & MediaGerman for “Gambler,” Zocker is the essence of unconventional: highlighting the uber rare Grüner Veltliner and our unique approach to Riesling, both estate-grown. A risky project for us, sure, but well worth the gamble.
Trade & MediaWhether you’re visiting San Luis Obispo and wine tasting in the Edna Valley, or searching for your new go-to wine at your local store, there are many ways to enjoy our wines.
