Come visit our tasting room at the historic Independence Schoolhouse, built in 1909. Taste a selection of wines chosen from our 30+ different white and red offerings across all five of our brands. Browse our enticing shop stocked with gourmet foods and charming gifts, as well as the entire lineup of our family's wines: Baileyana, Tangent, True Myth & Zocker.
We have plenty of outdoor seating with views across the vines from the valley to the mountains, plus two regulation Bocce ball courts. So bring a picnic or buy cheese, salami and crackers from us while you sip and enjoy the ambiance that is the Edna Valley. Children are welcome, and leashed dogs are permitted in our outdoor space. Outside alcohol and smoking are not permitted.
Visits to our tasting room can take many forms, from a tasting session to an afternoon spent sipping wine in the sunshine, and can last anywhere from under 30 minutes to several hours. Wine can also be purchased by the glass or bottle for enjoying onsite. Our tasting room is family-friendly and we allow leashed dogs in our outdoor areas. We do ask that children are supervised at all times and respectful of the property. We welcome you to picnic and play bocce, however only wine purchased at our tasting room is permitted and we ask that you please do not smoke or vape on the premises.
We are open daily from 10am to 5pm (Please call for holiday hours: 805.269.8200). Our last tasting flight starts at 4:45pm; and last bottle sale for onsite consumption is 4:30pm.
For groups of less than 8 people reservations are not required and we charge an individual tasting fee of $15. One fee is waived with each $50 wine purchase, or Club Membership sign-up waives up to 6 tasting fees. For those ready to immerse themselves, our Collector’s Flight includes a privately hosted, seated tasting on our patio with breathtaking views of the Edna Valley. Our host will walk you through a flight of 5 wines from our reserve collections, answering questions about grape varieties, winemaking style, and the uniqueness of the “terroir” in the Edna Valley. Our flight is accompanied by a platter of local artisan cheese and charcuterie. Casual, serene, and truly special, we invite you for a visit you’ll never forget. We require that you make a reservation in advance for groups of 8 or more. Our latest reservation is 2pm on weekends and holidays, 3pm on weekdays. You will be charged $90 in advance to hold your reservation and the remainder will be charged day-of. The charge for our group wine flight is $20 per person, including a $2 service fee, and the charge is fully refundable if your reservation is cancelled 48 hours ahead of time. Cheese and charcuterie platters available. We do not refund this group tasting fee with wine purchased, but we will extend a special 15% discount on wine purchases to everyone in your group. If you prefer to forego the wine tasting experience and just purchase wine by the bottle to be enjoyed on our premises, we have several large picnic tables and areas that seat between 8 and 30 people, which may be rented by the hour. Our maximum group size is 30 and we cannot take reservations after 2pm. The charge for the group is between $20 and $50 per hour depending on group size and a minimum wine purchase applies. Cheese and charcuterie platters available for $7.50 per person. Club 1909 members qualify for a 20% discount on this charge..
